The Role
Finite are currently seeking an experienced Oracle Developer for a twelve month contract within a large Government Department. This role is part-time and requires an NV1 clearance, or the ability to obtain and NV1 clearance.

Duties1. Proactively maintain and monitor the databases system to prevent any potential issues focusing on database health and capacity planning 
2. Attend audit meetings and Change Advisory Board (CAB) to review changes 
3. Quickly respond to business requests and application support team to remove any working bottleneck and persistently seek innovative ways to improve DBA work efficiency and quality 
4. Be involved with projects from the requirements phase to post production support. This means each team member has a tight, on-going relationship with product owners, project managers, storage, network and platforms team to maximise delivery of high-quality, high-satisfaction products. 
5. Display, uphold and adhere to the APS Values, Code of Conduct and the Department’s Workplace Diversity Program. 
6. Comply with WHS obligations and take responsibility for own health and safety and that of others 
7. Understand and comply with the agency risks management framework and relevant legislation, and contribute to the achievement of appropriate risk strategies. Guide other to identify and mitigate foreseeable risks.

Weighted Criteria 
You will have a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in administering, maintaining and managing Oracle databases and be well-versed in: 
o Database upgrades, patching and migrations 
o Database replication 
o Materialized Views 
o Snapshot technology to facilitate database backup and recovery 
o Monitoring using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 
o Source control tools such as CVS and GitHub 
o Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues 
o The flexibility to work after hours and weekends as required 
o Raising Technical Assistant Request (TAR’s) with Oracle Support 
o Installing and configuring new Oracle databases 
o Disaster recovery scenarios 
o Knowledge of Oracle auditing, security and best practices 
o Excellent documentation and communication skills 
o PL/SQL programming fundamentals would be an advantage 
o Working knowledge of LDAP, Weblogic and JBoss
