Job Overview

The Security Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) role provides senior operational advice, support and technical expertise in the design, development, implementation, maintenance and operational assurance of the department’s security solutions.

The role operates under the organisations government services contract and is accountable for technical delivery management of Security obligations including:

Application Whitelisting , Multi Factor Authentication , Network Access Control , Security Incident and Event Monitoring , password management. Compliance with Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Top 4 and Essential 8 and other Government Security requirements

This role primarily delivers a BAU function aligned with the delivery, performance, maintenance and growth of the departments security solutions. The position is also required to work closely with pre-sales focusing on the design and supportability elements of MNS Security solutions.

The role will require knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) methodology. This will involve the use of Incident, Change and Problem Management techniques to drive technical resolver groups in the resolution, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions to ensure that security solution performance levels are exceeded.

This position will have direct line management responsibility of 3 to 5 security technical resources with additional input into connected teams.

Role Function

  • Providing functional leadership of assigned security technical resources in a matrix management environment across multiple line managers.
  • Managing the technical resolution of complex security related major incidents.
  • Working within a team environment comprised of a number of diverse roles with a mix of pre-sales and post sales focus, to ensure that the department sees a cohesive, customer focused and high value E2E technical management team.
  • Consistently managing internal resolver groups and conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to stay abreast of emerging Telco/Information Communications Technology (ICT)/Enterprise security related products both internally and across the industry, and reading and interpreting the evolving technical security needs of the market.
  • Managing conflicting high impact incidents within the departments security environment.
  • Initiate projects as required to achieve security solution optimisation and performance for the department, whilst maintaining commercial integrity and optimal contracted performance.

Desired Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years working in the Telecommunications and/or IT Industry in an Operational Security Management and Support Role.
    Ability to manage and maintain relationships with clients at Senior and Operational management levels.
  • Ability to manage and maintain relationships with internal leveraged Government Technical Assistance Centre for Security related monitoring.
    ITIL V3 Foundation certification or demonstrated ITIL knowledge to an equivalent level.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of:
  • Network (Routing, WANX, Switching, WLAN, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Taps).
  • Security Mitigation strategies specific to Network Access Control and Network Segmentation.
  • Security Mitigation strategies specific to Application Whitelisting.
  • Security Governance (e.g. ISM, PSPF))
