My client an international law firm with a strong global presence and a reputation for providing an excellent service are looking for a IT Manager (APAC).

The role is a hands-on IT Manager (managing a Team of 6) to lead IT activities across the company’s offices. The IT Manager will be expected to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders in the business and quickly develop a keen understanding of the needs and preferences of our customers. Careful management of a diverse team of technology professionals will be essential to success.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing the performance of the teams to ensure that they are following core processes and delivering service excellence.
  • Utilising expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and resolve issues to ensure team, office and project goals and requirements are met.
  • Understand and deliver to the local IT needs of the offices in the region, ensuring that computers, hardware, software, telephony, video conferencing, networks and mobile technology offerings are operating reliably and quickly.
  • Act as member of the IT Management team, attending weekly calls, and collaborate with senior colleagues to craft the long term IT strategy of the firm.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date, accurate and complete view of local projects, enabling informed and timely decisions to be made on plan, budget, scope, issues, risks, interdependencies and quality.
  • Providing 2 nd and 3 rd line support directly when needed.
  • People management, including coaching, mentoring and developing, project management and liaison with internal and external clients.
  • Work with other managers in IT to build a culture of high performance, pro-activity, business co-operation, continuous improvement and service delivery.
  • Champion a customer-centric culture within the department, offering guidance and advice to colleagues, teams and departments on creating and living the culture.
  • Train and develop team member capability to improve skills and performance.
  • Work with the Director of IT to determine, track and manage IT budgets.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as may be required.

Skills and Experience Required

  • A minimum of five years’ previous IT management experience within a law firm.
  • Ability to collaborate across a broad range of stakeholders in a partnership environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Budgeting/cost management experience.
  • Proficiency in drafting reports.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple varied deliverables with demonstrable organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills appropriate at all levels of engagement within the firm’s international environment – influencing, diplomacy, flexibility, tenacity.
  • Mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Strong results-focused leadership skills, able to work collaboratively and influence.
  • Personal authority, independence, robustness and resilience.
